As the magnolias bloomed, signaling the arrival of spring, the long-tailed tit — a winter bird — flew away from its usual perch. I realized winter had passed and spring had come, simply by seeing the flowers begin to blossom. With a sense of warmth, I wanted to capture both winter and spring together in my painting.
